The event is produced by SoundLizzard Productions, which has been engaged in artist development, project coordination, and professional services for local musicians, independent film, and the community since 2003. Liz May, who owns the company said “SoundLizzard is constantly striving to strengthen and expose the local music scene,” and The Triad Music Festival was born out of those efforts. “As with all of our events and projects, we hope this will also bridge a connection with songwriters, musicians, and the community.”

Originally founded in 2012 as a weekend celebration, the festival grown and morphed in the 5 years since May began producing the event. “The Triad Music Festival has expanded exponentially each year, and now includes performances at multiple venues, networking and educational opportunities, and exhibits and vendors,” said May. She notes that the Festival has offerings for the engineer, technician, musician, and music lover, and “is supported by our strong arts community.”

The Triad Music Festival helps channel that support to musicians and the industry surrounding it. “The festival is designed to bring awareness to performing songwriters and support local and regional companies in this industry,” May said.
