a/perture Cinema and Coffee Park to Host “Sunset Flicks” This Summer

a/perture cinema on Winston-Salem’s Fourth Street and Coffee Park ARTS in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in downtown Winston-Salem, will host “Sunset Flicks” on three Wednesday evenings this summer at Winston-Square Park. Sunset Flicks will feature outdoor movies, and Forsyth County based food trucks such as Food Freaks Stuffed Burgers, La Vie En Rose, Taqueria Luciano’s, D’s Cakes in a Cup and Mike & Mike’s Italian Ice.

Presenting sponsor is Salem Smiles, orthodontics for children and adults. The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County is providing promotional support. Admission is free.

“Building on the success of last year’s Sunset Flicks series, we want to continue to provide opportunities for the community to come together and celebrate classic films, summer weather and some great local food trucks. This summer, our series highlights the perfect dinner and a movie date with romantic films for all ages.” said Lawren Desai, curator of a/perture cinema.

“Collaborative efforts between small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Winston-Salem can provide our community fantastic, affordable and family-friendly opportunities to experience our downtown. Coffee Park ARTS is proud to partner with a/perture cinema, Salem Smiles and The Arts Council to continue Sunset Flicks in 2016,” said Tommy Priest, owner of Coffee Park ARTS and Coffee Park AIRSTREAM on Reynolda Road.

Food truck service begins at 7:00 p.m. in front of The Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, 251 North Spruce Street, with the films screening at sundown in adjacent Winston-Square Park. Coffee Park ARTS, located in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, will be open until 10:00 p.m. during Sunset Flicks providing beverages, snacks and dining areas for guests.
