At the Arts Council, Mackay will be responsible for all major and special gift fundraising efforts with both individuals and businesses and will oversee the Art Nouveau Society as well as the Renaissance and 1949 Societies. She will also act as the fundraising liaison to The Arts Council’s Funded Partner boards of directors.

Mackay received the BA degree in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts in 2002 where she was honored with the Alumni Network Senior Leadership Award. In 2009, she received the MBA degree in marketing from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, in New York.

The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, the first locally established arts council in the United States, enriches the lives of area residents every day. It raises funds and advocates for the arts, makes grants for arts in education, sponsors events with other arts organizations, strengthens cultural resources, develops social capital, and aids economic development. In its 2012 grant cycle, The Arts Council made Organizational Support Grants to 21 Funded Partners totaling $1,625,000. Grants made in its four grant categories totaled $1,801,150.
