Christmas in July – Senior Services to Collect Much Needed Items

Senior Services Inc. is launching its annual Summer drive to collect much needed supplies for the elderly.

santa at beach“Sometimes it’s not possible for our senior clients to get out of the house to shop for household necessities, especially during periods of extremely hot weather,” said Richard Gottlieb, President and CEO of Senior Services Inc. “That’s why we’re teaming with Piedmont Federal to encourage the public to donate everyday items in this special collection drive.”

“ Senior Services plays a crucial role in helping older people to stay in their own homes and live as independently as possible,” said Ginger Salt, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Piedmont Federal Savings Bank. “We are honored to help extend that mission by partnering on ‘Christmas in July’.”

Items that are needed:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Anti-bacterial liquid soap
  • Adult wipes/ towelettes
  • Disposable bed pads
  • Men’s & women’s deodorant
  • Body lotion
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Laundry detergent
  • Food
  • Boost or Ensure (plain, vanilla or chocolate)
  • Small canned hams
  • Canned chicken,tuna or salmon
  • Crackers/cheese crackers
  • Peanut butter
  • Cereal
  • Macaroni & cheese (microwaveable)
  • Grape jelly (plastic bottle)
  • Canned beef stew
  • Soup: vegetable, chicken noodle
  • Canned vegetables: peas, green beans, spinach, potatoes
  • Chef Boyardee
  • Breakfast bars
  • Single packets of grits/oatmeal
  • 100% fruit juice boxes (single serving size)

Donated items should be brought to Senior Services at 2895 Shorefair Drive or any Forsyth County Piedmont Federal branch.
