ConvergeSouth has become the region’s premier technology and creativity conference for businesses, non-profits, and emerging entrepreneurs alike. This year’s day-long conference is set for Friday, Sept. 16, in Wake Forest University’s Innovation Quarter and will feature keynote speaker The Sales Lion Marcus Sheridan, whose obsession is helping companies become the best communicators.
The goal of ConvergeSouth is to bring panels of speakers with invaluable ideas, insight, and advice to share.. The conference is limited to only a few hundred tickets, which ensures that there is always time for plenty of Q&A’s and informal networking.
The event, founded in 2004, has brought national and local experts to Winston-Salem, making it easy for local innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to learn from and interact with leaders in their fields.
This one-day conference is packed with panels, keynote addresses, networking and break-out sessions, and DIY workshops. The conference is a great opportunity for those looking to expand their business by creatively utilizing all that the internet and technology have to offer.
ConvergeSouth speakers are carefully selected from those who specialize in all things tech, design, and web, and they’re ready to let you in on all the tips and tricks. Attendees learn how to create meaningful content, the most efficient way to run social media sites, how to use data to get the most out of your audience, and much, much more.
Topics for this year’s conference include SEO, digital marketing strategies, inbound marketing, lead funnels, and video marketing, and will be covered by an outstanding group of speakers which include:
JR Oakes, Consultwebs – How Data Will Revolutionize Your SEO Strategy
Stephanie Wonderlin Carls – Marketing to Millennials Their Way
Claire Machamer, UNCSA – 7 Ways to Transform Your Digital Strategy
Jim Lin, Ketchum – Digital PR: The Great Equalizer
Megan Hannay, ZipSprout – Enhancing Local Branding with Grassroots Marketing
George Thomas, The Sales Lion/Hubspot – Content and Inbound Marketing
The event is run by an amazing group of volunteers and sponsors who all strive to empower businesses who are like-minded: passionate and self-motivated in their community and work. Those volunteers and sponsors help keep the costs low and the quality high for this annual event.
For the second year in a row, the all-volunteer conference has received a $5,000 grant from the Millennium Fund. “The grant will be a great help in our efforts to produce our 12th annual conference, which is shaping up to be our best one yet,” says Kristen Daukas, president of ConvergeSouth.
Each year there is a special event on the night before the conference where ticket holders can join the entire ConvergeSouth team at a VIP event at one of the area’s most unique venues, the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel. Guests at this event enjoy a more intimate networking experience with the players they’ll be hearing from the next day, and get to have some fun in the Cardinal’s basement play area.
