Dishcrawl Debuts in Winston-Salem

By Stephanie Hess

After much anticipation, Dishcrawl, a national start-up that brings together local residents over food and fellowship, is expanding to Winston-Salem this August! On Wednesday, August 14 at 7pm, Dishcrawl explores Winston-Salem’s beautiful and cultural downtown with the mission to give folks a reason to get out of the house and socially engage with each other while helping local restaurants gain exposure. Dishcrawl takes food lovers on a tasting tour of four distinctive restaurants in one evening.

Adding to the fun, participating restaurants are kept secret until two days before the event, at which time the first location is revealed to ticket holders.

“Dishcrawl wants food lovers to get to know the signature dishes of our local restaurants, as well as the chefs and owners behind those creations,” says Winston-Salem Dishcrawl Ambassador Kristi Maier. “If you are a foodie, you should be a Dishcrawler!”

Dishcrawl’s mission is to show food lovers the best dishes in local restaurants, creating dining experiences and events to satisfy anyone’s craving.  You can find your local Dishcrawl Ambassador leading you through progressive dinners, prix fixe dinners, and other fun food events.  Dishcrawlers enjoy dining experiences in San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Ottawa, San Jose, Toronto, Philadelphia, DC, and more.

“Winston-Salem’s restaurant scene is just waiting to be discovered,” explains Maier. “We’ve got an awesome downtown area with little ‘nooks’ of deliciousness: 4th Street, the West End, the Arts District and the area near Old Salem. We also have great restaurants in other corridors near Ardmore and on Robinhood Road. There’s so much to visit and so many great chefs to meet and learn more about what makes them tick. It’s my mission to highlight these foodie neighborhoods in future Dishcrawls. With Dishcrawl, we’re bringing the community back to these spots and reigniting the passion for local restaurants.”

Reservations for the Dishcrawl on August 14th are $45 per person and can be purchased HERE.
