Environmental Advocacy Training Coming to the Camel City

Citizens Climate Lobby is providing a training opportunity in Winston-Salem focusing on how to persuade Congress to enact meaningful legislation to address global climate change. Participants can learn how to reclaim their democracy and engage elected officials and the media to generate the political will necessary for solutions that will stabilize the Earth’s climate.  Information will be provided on ways to lobby legislators and access local news media to address climate change.

Citizens Climate Lobby  is a non-profit, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. CCL’s goal is to use the free market to address global climate change by lobbying legislators and driving public opinion to support a revenue neutral carbon tax. This tax would tax fossil fuels and return all proceeds to individuals who can then decide for themselves whether to spend the money on existing high carbon fuels and goods or on low carbon alternatives.  CCL works to train and support volunteers to meet with legislators, write letters to news organizations, hold monthly meetings, and empower each other to bridge the partisan divide on climate change and provide the political will for climate action.
