The Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem will receive a new Area Commander on Monday, June 27. Current Area Commander Major James Allison and Associate Area Commander Major Lois Allison have been transferred to the Hampton Roads Area Command based in Norfolk, VA. Assuming Command in Winston-Salem will be Majors Stan and Deborah Colbert, who are relocating from Daytona Beach, FL.

Majors James and Lois Allison have served the Greater Winston-Salem Area since 2012. Major James Allison stated about their tenure in the Twin City area, “The past four years have been a tremendous blessing as we have given leadership to The Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem.  The Greater Winston-Salem area is blessed to have people of compassion, cooperation, community and commitment willing to step forward with necessary resources to meet a multitude of needs throughout the area.”

“You have taken Lois and me in as family; helping us feel right at home.  Your support of The Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem is humbling as together we served people in need without discrimination. The Apostle Paul expresses Lois’ and my heart in Philippians 1:3–4 (The Message), ‘Every time you cross our mind, we break out in exclamations of thanks to God.  Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer.  We find ourselves praying for you with a glad heart.’”
