Man Charged in Death Involving Vehicle Collision with Home

Quante Hashim Rucker has been charged with felony death by motor vehicle regarding his collision with a Winston-Salem residence on Sunday morning that resulted in the death of 56 year-old Tommy Curry. Rucker was placed in the Forsyth County Jail under a $250,000 bond with a preliminary court date set for July 30th, 2015.

Rucker was traveling west on Oak Summit Road in his 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. Rucker crossed over the double yellow line and left the roadway on the left side. His car continued to travel west until hit hit the house located at 300 Oak Summit Road. Rucker collided with the residence and entered the east side of the home.

56 year-old Tommy Curry was inside his home at the time of the collision and died at the scene from injuries caused by the collision.

This was the 10th traffic fatality of 2015.
