Teacher Assaulted by Student at East Forsyth High School

At approximately 10:30am on Tuesday the Kernersville Police Department’s School Resource Officer at East Forsyth High School responded to an assault call in a classroom on the campus. The officer located a female teacher who was injured trying to separate two students who were involved in a verbal altercation.

The teacher was injured when one student tried to punch the other. She was struck in the face during the assault.

Seventeen year-old Dante Isaiah Thomas was arrested and charged with assault inflicting serious injuries and for disorderly conduct on an educational property. He has been placed in lockup under a $5,000 bond.

The injuries to the teacher were serious, but non-life threatening. She was transported to the Kernersville Medical Center for treatment.
