Twin City Stage will hold auditions for William Shakespeare’s The Tempest on Friday, March 11, from 6-8pm, and Saturday, March 12, from 11am – 1pm, at the Arts Council Theatre, 610 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem. No appointment is necessary.
This unique production of The Tempest will be directed by Meredith Stephens and performed as readers’ theatre on April 27 in Raleigh as part of the “38 Plays in 5 Days” Shakespeare marathon hosted by Burning Coal Theatre Company and the NC Museum of History. The marathon, to be held at the museum April 23-28, will mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. Up to fifteen actors will be cast. The role of Prospero will likely be cast with a look of a mature male. The roles of Miranda and Ferdinand will likely be cast with a look of older teens or college students. Supporting roles will be open to men and women; auditioners must be 14 years of age or older. The first rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday, March 13, from 2-5 pm.
